A rare color photo of the historic Paramount Theatre marquee during Frank Sinatra’s engagement in 1944—it was here that Sinatramania exploded on October 11th after 30,000 enraged bobbysoxer fans were turned away from the noon show when those who viewed the morning show refused to leave their seats. Chaos ensued and the police spent the entire day trying to quell what became known as the Columbus Day Riot.
